Introduction

The State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) Tamil Nadu was constituted under the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification 2006 issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India. SEIAA is responsible for granting Environmental Clearance (EC) for Category 'B' projects/activities listed in the Schedule of EIA Notification 2006.
